What do anxiety attacks feel like?

This is a question I’m always asked and this is a question many people are asking themselves. What do anxiety attacks feel like?

Along with asking myself this question I went on to social media and asked others. How an anxiety attack feels varies from person to person.

Anxiety attacks can make your heart race and make you feel like your head is going to explode with all the thoughts you are having. Sometimes you can have a feeling that your lips are tingling and possibly turning blue feeling like you’re going to pass out from shortness of breath. There are others that feel stomach knots or worse feel sick to their stomachs.  Also, a feeling of impending doom. If intense enough it can cause a panic attack.

Anxiety attacks have specific triggers in response to stress. It may be due to an illness, something at work or our relationships. Anxiety is a response to this stress and when we don’t manage it properly it builds up and manifests itself as an anxiety attack. Stress is a normal part of life but if we let it get the best of us it can bring us down.

Stress can be managed in many ways. I asked the question How do you handle stress? Stress relief can include walking, hiking, journaling, massage therepy, yoga, meditation and CBD oil.

On a facebook forum someone was asking the question.Who has been hospitalized for anxiety? One person responded by saying that they went to the ER for symptoms of what was thought to be a stroke. The doctor examined this person and determined it was a panic attack and this person received a bill for $4500 dollars. It reminded me of a time when I was about to graduate from college and the same thing happened to me except I had a hard time breathing and I thought I was having an asthma attack, but it turned out to be a panic attack.

It’s important to manage stress properly.
