Bipolar disorder is a mental illness marked by extreme mood swings (mania and depression). A big part of the illness that’s often overlooked are the subtle changes that happen when your mood shifts. These include subtle changes in your personality as well as your behaviors.
As a result, you may find yourself self-sabotaging relationships without being self-aware. For example, when your mood is off you may not feel like connecting with others. Also, you may have problems with obsessing over what other people think of you.

Also, you’ll have more self-awareness of how self-sabotaging behaviors can be connected to bipolar disorder symptoms. As a result, you’ll be aware of the triggers that lead to mood swings before they cause problems.
